I travel worldwide for elopements. I am based in Bruchsal near Karlsruhe and especially enjoy the mountains in Bavaria, the Alps and the Black Forest. A place further away is not a reason to say no; it simply takes planning.
Tell me about the place you have in mind and how you would like to spend your day. Travel and any overnight stay will be part of your individual offer.
A small wedding
needs no big schedule.
An elopement is a wedding for two or a handful of people, without a long guest list, seating plan or programme. The day follows you and the place, rather than a timetable. That is what makes it so lovely to photograph: nobody is waiting for the next group picture.
In Germany, you can only marry with legal effect at a registry office. Many couples do that beforehand in a very small group, then have a personal ceremony where they truly want to be. I can photograph both, or either one on its own.
You do not need to know how to pose. I give you gentle prompts and leave you in peace between them.

More of your own rhythm.
A small wedding does not need to look like a shortened version of a big celebration. If you do not need group photographs, we do not plan any. If breakfast together or a walk to the water belongs to your day, we can talk about beginning the photography there.
First, think about what you want to remember: the nerves before the ceremony, your words, the landscape or time with a few people close to you. Those wishes lead to a better plan than a fixed list of hours.

Place and journeys
Where does your day begin, how do you travel on from there, and which paths work in your wedding clothes? Travel time belongs in the plan and should not quietly take away your time together.
Light and weather
We consider when portraits make sense and what we could do if it rains. The place should still feel right to you if the weather changes.

Together we decide when my photography begins and ends. Travel and any overnight stays are included in the offer.

I have had a few places in mind for years without ever photographing a wedding there. If you want to marry in one of them, I will make an unusual offer: I will come without charging my photography fee, you cover my travel costs, and I may share the photographs afterwards.
I am still based in Bruchsal. Everything on this map is further away than a car journey, and that is exactly the idea.
Iceland
Waterfalls, black sand and light that changes every hour. Iceland has been high on my list since I first saw photographs of it.
Norway
The Lofoten Islands: mountains rising straight out of the water. In summer it never gets properly dark, so you could take couple portraits at two in the morning.
Canada
Mountain lakes and forests in the west. A place for couples who would rather drive for an hour on their wedding day than greet thirty guests.
Azores
Green crater lakes in the middle of the Atlantic, often with fog that disappears ten minutes later. I would love to photograph a whole day here.
Madeira
The island for hiking. Levada paths, laurel forest and cliffs, and you get married in shoes you can actually walk away in afterwards.
French Polynesia
The most distant wish on this list, and the only one I would need to cost out carefully beforehand. If the sea matters more than anything else to you, tell me about it.
What this offer means
- No photography fee
- You receive the same coverage as any other couple, with all the edited photographs from the day. I do not charge you for that.
- You cover travel
- Flights or other transport, accommodation and local travel. We calculate everything together before anyone commits so you know exactly what is involved.
- I may share your photographs
- That is a condition and will be written into the contract: a selection of your pictures will appear on this website and Instagram. If you do not want that, we can book in the usual way, with a photography fee.
- One or two trips a year
- I cannot fit more around my weddings here. It also depends on whether your date is free and whether I am allowed to photograph at the location. Some national parks require a permit, which I will check for your place before we agree anything.

Can an elopement include other people?
You can marry alone together or bring a few people. What matters is that the size and rhythm feel right to you.
Will you plan the whole wedding for us?
I photograph your day and discuss a suitable schedule for your pictures. You arrange the ceremony location, bookings and the rest of your wedding yourselves.
What does an elopement abroad cost?
For a small wedding in Germany or a neighbouring country, your offer includes photography, travel and an overnight stay if needed. My six wish list locations, from Iceland to French Polynesia, work differently: I waive my photography fee, you cover my travel costs, and I may share your photographs afterwards.
